	the SKATERY, a smoke-free, family-friendly roller skating rink on PA 225, just 2 miles North of beautiful "downtown" Pillow, was established in the Fall of 1988, at the site of the former Double R Skate Ranch. Owner/operators, Don & Roberta Molaro had skated competitively for the prestigious Mineola Roller Skating Rink (Mineola, NY) in the late ‘50s & early ’60s.  They’d always dreamed of owning a rink.  After marrying in 1960, the Molaros settled down to raise a family and put rink ownership on the “back burner”. ... The family relocated to central PA in 1974 and when the local roller rink went on the market in the spring of 1988, they bought it. Today the SKATERY is climate controlled, year-round. The well-lit, nostalgic decor, with stained glass accents, carpeted walls & comfortable seating, welcomes roller skaters of all ages five - six days a week (in season) with varied programs geared for different age groups.
Birthdays at the SKATERY are more fun than ever, since the addition of the large "Circus Club" party room in 2002. Under construction for most of that summer, the room is now in almost constant use each weekend. This new facility offers families the chance to entertain larger numbers of children outside the home … without any chance of being “rained out” … during a fully catered birthday party. Rink Policy: We believe that when parents drop their children off at the beginning of a session they expect them to be in the rink until the end of that session.             With this in mind, we ask parents who need to pick their minor child up before the end of the evening skate, to come into the building to do so. Children under 18 may not return their rental skates more than 15 minutes before the end of a session, unless accompanied by a parent. (Even if they swear their parents are waiting outside.)            In this way, we hope to ensure the safety of your children. Be sure to click on “Parent Info” for more about our policies.
		"Into the 21st Century!" ... the SKATERY website was launched in 1999 with our domain name (www.skatery.com) being registered in the spring of 2000. It has been expanded from one v-e-r-y l-o-n-g page to a number of specialized pages. (Be sure to check them all out!) Although the site is updated monthly, the version you’re viewing is about the 8^th complete overhaul of this site, completed during the summer of 2008. The list of pages at the left is expanded on the “Directory” page, so if you don’t see the subject you’re interested in, click on “Directory”.

	the EATERY is a clean and well-equipped snack bar that has always scored 99-100% on State inspections (mainly because there were crumbs in the pizza oven at the time of one inspection, during a session!). An assortment of munchies and soft drinks are offered at reasonable prices. DO try Mr. "M"s pizza, with or without pepperoni. Many of our regulars plan on having it for their supper.
the Floor: One of the first things the Molaros did, was to enlarge the skating surface to 72’x150’ with beveled corners (resulting in just over 9,500 square feet), and replace the original concrete with a plastic-coated, solid maple floor. It is one of the best-maintained skating surfaces in the state. Take a VIRTUAL TOUR!

WE BELIEVE that when you drop children off @ the SKATERY, you fully expect that they will be in the building until closing time, therefore, under-age children may not return their rental skates until 15 minutes before the session ends … unless a parent is along.
